Experience a delightful blend of tender, juicy meat and flavorful okra in this traditional South Asian dish. The succulent meat pairs perfectly with the crispy okra, creating a harmony of textures and spices that will surely satisfy your taste buds.

  • 500 g Lamb diced
  • 400 g Okra washed and sliced
  • 2 Onions finely chopped
  • 3 Tomatoes chopped
  • 4 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 cm Ginger grated
  • 2 Green Chilies chopped
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 tsp Chilli Powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 3 tbsp Oil
  • 200 ml Water
  • Coriander for garnish


  • Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  • Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
  • Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  • Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and green chilies. Cook for 2 minutes.
  • Add diced lamb pieces and cook until they turn brown.
  • Stir in chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and pulpy.
  • Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, ground black pepper, and salt. Mix well.
  • Pour in the water, cover the pan, and let the lamb cook for 40-45 minutes until tender.
  • Once the lamb is almost cooked, add sliced okra and cook until they are tender.
  • Sprinkle garam masala powder and mix gently.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with rice or chapati.
