Methi Paneer

Methi Paneer is a delightful vegetarian recipe featuring paneer cooked with aromatic fenugreek leaves. This savoury, mildly bitter curry pairs wonderfully with roti or rice, making it a perfect meal for lunch or dinner.

Ingredients
  

  • 200 g Paneer cubed
  • 150 g Methi Leaves fenugreek Leaves, washed and chopped
  • 1 tbsp Ghee
  • 1 Onion finely chopped
  • 2 Tomatoes pureed
  • 1 Green Chilli slit
  • 1 tsp Ginger-Garlic Paste
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Amchur Powder dry mango powder
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Coriander chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Heat the ghee in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  • Add the finely chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
  • Add the ginger-garlic paste and slit green chilli, and sauté for another minute.
  • Stir in the pureed tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, and salt. Cook the masala for 5-7 minutes, until the oil starts to separate from the mixture.
  • Add the chopped methi leaves and cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing them to soften.
  • Gently fold in the paneer cubes and cook for 3-4 minutes, ensuring they are well coated with the masala.
  • Sprinkle amchur powder over the dish and mix well.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
