Ingredients

  • 250 g Plain Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 60 g Yoghurt
  • 4 tsp Milk
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • Coriander Chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Begin by whisking together all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  • In a separate bowl, combine plain yogurt, milk, and vegetable oil, ensuring they are well mixed.
  • Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients while stirring, until a dough forms.
  • Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead it for approximately 5 minutes until it turns smooth and elastic.
  • Divide the dough into four equal portions and shape each portion into a ball.
  • Heat a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat.
  • Take one dough ball and roll it out into a circular shape, approximately 1/4 inch thick.
  • Place the rolled-out dough onto the heated pan and cook for around 1-2 minutes or until bubbles start to form on the surface.
  • Flip the naan bread and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes on the other side until golden brown spots appear.
  • Repeat the process with the remaining dough balls.
  • While the naan bread is still warm, brush the surface with melted butter and sprinkle chopped cilantro on top for added flavour.
  • Serve the No Yeast Naan Bread warm alongside your favourite curry or dip.

Notes

This recipe yields four naan breads, but you can easily adjust the serving size by doubling or halving the ingredients.
Feel free to customise the flavour by incorporating spices like cumin, coriander, or nigella seeds into the dough.
Naan bread is best enjoyed fresh, but you can store any leftovers in an airtight container and reheat them in a toaster or oven as desired.
