Potato Fritters

These potato fritters are versatile and can be enjoyed at any time of day. A great addition to any breakfast, brunch, or dinner, serve with sour cream, salsa, or any other dipping sauce.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g Potatoes
  • 1 Onion Finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 2 tbsp Plain Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • Oil For frying

Instructions

  • Peel and grate the potatoes, then place them in a clean tea towel and squeeze out any excess liquid.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the grated potatoes, chopped onion, minced garlic, flour, baking powder, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  • Heat enough vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat to cover the bottom of the pan.
  • Spoon the potato mixture into the pan, making sure to flatten each fritter slightly with a spatula.
  • Fry the fritters for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove the fritters from the pan and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
  • Serve hot with your favourite dipping sauce or as a side dish.
