Comfort food at its finest, this spaghetti Bolognese recipe is a true Italian classic. With its meaty, chilli sauce served on top of flavourful spaghetti pasta, this is a perfect, low-hassle recipe to serve when having dinner with the family.
Cook the spaghetti in boiling salted water according to the package instructions until it's al dente. Drain and set aside.
Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic and sauté for 2-3 minutes until they become soft.
Add the beef mince to the frying pan and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it's browned all over.
Add the chopped tomatoes, tomato paste, dried oregano, and dried basil to the frying pan. Cook for a few minutes until the sauce has slightly thickened.
Pour the beef stock into the pan and stir well. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Simmer the Bolognese sauce for 15-20 minutes until the beef is tender and the sauce has thickened to your liking.
Serve the spaghetti with the Bolognese sauce spooned over the top and a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese.
